Our last day in Mexico

Thursday 28 November, 2013
After six weeks of a non-stop, go, go, go holiday we finally arrived at our last day (before flying back to Melbourne).

Went and saw the Castillo Chapultepec, the home of the last emperor of Mexico.
Really beautiful. They had a show on.  Mexico City is much greener than we expected (at least in the centre).

Then had lunch above the Templo Mayor and then went to see the Aztec pyramids.  While at lunch we were having a wine and a beer and noticed that the buildings were a bit askew.  Was it the alcohol?  No.  Actually Mexico City was built on a lake.  The original Aztec city was like Venice - a water city.  Even the Aztecs had issues with their buildings sinking.

Onto the Templo Mayor.  Our last pyramid.  Lucky number 25. Great museum.  Here is the god of death with his liver hanging out.

For our final night in Mexico, Lu Lu and Jose Antonio took us to see Mono Blanco which is a traditional Mexican band.  We have a video of the performance which I have loaded to another post.
